ok, i still haven't seen the woman with red boots, but thanks to the magic of netflix insta-play i was introduced to this little gem: les parapluies de cherbourg. how could i have gone so long without knowing its candy-colored, frenchie-phile, sing-song magnificence existed?? just feast your eyes on these stills and try not to fall in love with sweet tart umbrellas, wet cobblestone streets, a picture-perfect catherine deneuve, serenading frenchmen, and WHAT ABOUT THAT WALLPAPER!!!! dying.
my mom and dad are totally rad. the photo above is one of my absolute favorites but since today is their 35th (!!!) wedding anniversary, i couldn't resist posting these pics from their engagement party at my grandparent's house, way back in the day. could my dad's collar get any wider? could my mom's hair get any cooler?

i love me some vintage dishware. thankfully, my lack of cupboard space saves me a lot a cash in that department but if i had any extra shelf space, i'd fill it with this sweet little number. talk about a tea party waiting to happen. and with those retro low-rent marijuana leaf look-alikes?? love!!
i sooooo wish i was in london right now so i could pick up a copy of love, the new katie grand (of pop founding fame) rag that launched today. lovin' that cover, nipples or no.
after waking up at 4:30am to catch my morning flight home from rochester, and dealing with the hellish throes of april/may deadline, i seriously wished i had gone to work in sweatpants. luckily i don't own any otherwise i might have. ideally, i'd be one of these girls looking cute and cozy and completely effortless on even my very worst of days. i think that comes naturally with being scandinavian. too bad i ain't got none of that in my heritage.
