i love paper crafts. i'm not embarrassed (ok, a little) to admit that i subscribe to real simple and some of my favorite pages are the section openers that feature amazing paper sculptures. so i was super stoked when jen gave me the heads up about yulia brodskaya.
just look at these paper masterpieces she creates! totally rad.
i'll be the first to admit i often get a sad little case of the post-holiday blues. i miss the baking, the card-making, the shopping, wrapping, and decorating. so what do i do? look forward to the next holiday that involves one or more of these things: valentine's day. yeah, i know, it gets a bad rap, hallmark-holiday blah-di-blah. whatevs, i'm down to celebrate love with hearts and candy and all things pink and red. SO. i think fred flare's idea to have folks make handmade valentines which they'll sell on their site then donate all the profits is awesome. get the deets here, and start craftin'!
need some inspiration? pick up a copy of handmade hellos: fresh greeting card projects by first-rate crafters, compiled by the two lovely ladies behind one of my favorite stationery companies, hello! lucky.
hope yours was magical. after a week in cali, an epic nye dance party in richmond, va, and a couple days in rochester that looked just like the picture above, i'm back in the bk, prepping for a serious monday morning reality check. vacation is officially ovah. but 2009 is totally jammin'! promise.
three-layer peppermint bark over at eatmakeread. (in my mouth. now. go on, get in there.)
gastronomy's pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. (pumpking anything=swooooon.)
baked doughnuts from my most favoritest cookbook author heidi swanson at 101 cookbooks. (i never met a doughnut i didn't like.)
