so, i recently finished reading my first murakami book. i know, i know, how on earth did i get this far in life without reading murakami?? no idea, but i'm glad it's been remedied. next on my list is the wind-up bird chronicle (it seems to be everyone's fave) but i'm glad i started with norwegian wood cause it also happens to be one of my favorite beatles' songs. (having this tune in my head the whole time i was reading was a welcome reprieve from the unsettling mashup of melissa etheridge and whatever soft rock song was playing the last time i was in duane reade that's usually stuck in there, wtf, seriously.)
not only that but it's also the namesake of an awesome etsy store that i maaay be stalking, just a little bit. i mean, with necklaces like these, how could i not?
norwegian wood. always good.

I love Murakami and have lots of his books if you want to borrow instead of buy. My favorite is a short story compilation called "The Elephant Vanishes". As for novels, I loved "Wind Up Bird Chronicles" and also "Kafka on the Shore"
This was my first Murakami book as well and I think my favorite (which seems like a theme for me, whatever book I first read from an author ends up being my favorite). Wind Up Bird Chronicles and Sputnik Sweetheart also great!
And of course I love the Norwegian Wood Etsy shop, but I don't think I could pull off one of those necklaces!
I just finished reading this as well! It was so good. Before that I read Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World.
sooo...im about to buy one (or two) of those necklaces....
