stop, flannel time.

since i happen to be wearing a tartan plaid skirt with a t-shirt, a black hoodie, denim jacket (pinned with a "winona forever" button no less!), and my beat-to-all-hell black cons today (regress much?), i figured now is a good time to mention this awesome new photo book grunge, by michael lavine. it's a subject near and dear to my heart and michael was totally there, capturing the scene way before it reached my lil' suburb of los angeles and my teeny-tiny barely teenage ears. i mentioned a looooong time ago how my mind was blown when i found out he was behind the mother of all kurt & courtney photos (sassy! r.i.p.) and now with this project he's given us an early 90s yearbook of all the bands that mattered (smashing pumpkins, nirvana, sonic youth, mudhoney, L7, etc.!) and all the kids that loved them. oh, and with a foreword by thurston moore?? SOLD.

Yep, probably going to need to purchase that book.

And BTW, today I am wearing a plaid flannel, faded black skinny jeans and PINK chucks.

oh how I wish I could just wear my baggy flannel shirt from high school with my bagging ripped levis. Sigh why is fashion so tight these days?

This was a fantastic outfit you were wearing during this post writing. I personally attest to that!
